In the past few days lots of progress has been made regarding the organisation of Openoffice.org Conference 2007 in Barcelona. Let me highlight a few:
- The final dates for the conference are finally set. The conference is going to be hold from 19th until 21st of September 2007 at Universitat de Barcelona.
- The call for papers is already opened. Papers are welcomed on topics
ranging from developing OpenOffice.org to marketing it; from the global
politics of the free and open-source software (FOSS) movement to the
technical challenges of localization. OOoCon is a forum for technical
as well as general examinations of OpenOffice.org's place in the
expanding world of FOSS.
- I have put together a brochure for potential sponsors for the conference. So far the answer from local institutions has been good. Please, if you are interested in sponsoring the event let me know (jmas at softcatala.org).
- We have set a section that explains how you can help organising the event, specially if you live in the Barcelona area. We also keep a list of people willing to help.
You can find more details also at the conference
Marketing and
Organization Wiki's and in the Conference
blog that we are keeping.
